On Friday, May 10th, Mgr. Miroslava Kuľková from Charles University in Prague gave a lecture about new Slovak president Zuzana Caputova.

In the otherwise stable trend of rising of populist politicians in Europe, her victory represents an island of positive deviation. How a divorced female lawyer could won a majority in traditionally Catholic Slovakia? What role have the social media played in her campaign? How is this victory connected to the murder of young journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée in February 2018?

These and many other questions were addressed during the short lecture, which was followed by a discussion.
